Baranda Johnson, Assistant Director of Student Life at MSSD, brings 15 years of experience in Student Life. With a background as a Residential Educator and Manager, she has a deep understanding of the varied needs and challenges students face.
In collaboration with the SL Social Justice team, Baranda actively works towards creating an inclusive and equitable environment within the student community. She is dedicated to addressing social justice issues and driving positive change on campus. Through close collaboration with the Clerc Center, Baranda enhances student support and resources.
Having been raised in the vibrant city of Boston, Massachusetts, particularly in the birthplace of Malcolm X, Dorchester, near Roxbury, Baranda holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Gallaudet University and a Master's degree from Howard University.
Beyond work, Baranda finds joy in spending quality time with her family, strengthening their bond. She also has a passion for traveling, which allows her to embrace different cultures, expand her perspectives, and appreciate the diversity of the world.
